JS Services, Inc. was started because of a confluence of factors. The founder, Jack Schneider, had run businesses in the past. He found that his biggest time waster, and most onerous part of running a business was doing payroll. Doing payroll meant dealing with numerous Tax Forms, Tax Deposits and Tax Payment deadlines. It also meant keeping up with all of the various changes in the law, and the changes in mandated benefits. There also was the ever-present need to provide work comp, TDI and Health Insurance. Since the ERISA statutes had changed in 1982, it became possible to do “Employee Leasing” On April 1, 1982 by Jack Schneider founded JS Services as a DBA.
At that time JS Services was one of 40 Employee Leasing Companies in the United States. Today there are thousands of them. JS Services was incorporated three years later, in 1985. The initial location of the office was the Waimanu Street Warehouse (875 Waimanu Street, Room 606). That location eventually proved unsatisfactory, and the facility was moved to 1314 S King Street #1163. After that building experienced a major fire in 2000, the office was moved to the Guardian Escrow Building, 2347 S Beretania Street. February 2005, was the date of the move to the JS Services Building, 3160 Waialae Ave., our present home.
Initially JS Services, Inc. ran on an Apple 2+ computer, utilizing VISICALC spreadsheets. That system has matured into a modern network utilizing state of the art computer systems, and customized software...
